Gritstone bouldering mainly in the Chew Valley area of the Peak District national park.
Bouldering is a subset of the 'sport' of climbing; it predominantly focuses on difficult moves relatively close to the ground, so it is typically fairly safe! Back in the olden days bouldering was considered to be training for 'proper climbing', these days it is an end in itself.
From a photography point of view, it is arguably easier to set up a good bouldering shot than traditional rock climbing. Composition is easier, in that no abseiling or diffuclt access can be expected. As with many aspects of outdoor photography one is a slave to the vagaries of natural light with the best chance of good light as the sun starts to set......
